- The Portuguese coat of arms at the top and a map of the South African coast with a palm tree to the right with a line representing the trip at sea and a ship under sail to the right, towards the east to the left and a legend around (Portuguese Republic 1998 200 Escudos)
- Revers
- Map of South Africa, Natal, "Christmas" in Portuguese because Vasco da Gama landed there 25 December 1497. A " pradao " stone column with a cross, on the coast, was built in Mossel Bay.
