- In the center, the national shield in sculptural relief surrounded with the legend "ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS". Surrounding it and following the outline of the frame, the reproduction of different shields used throughout the history of our country, as well as the eagle found in the central part of the first page of the Mendocino Codex. - A scene showing the image of a harpy eagle perched on the trunk of a tree, followed by the number "2001", to its left, on a line spacing that starts from the vertical axis towards the left, the "$" sign and then the number "5", and at the bottom the symbol of the House of Currency of Mexico. In the upper right quadrant the inscription "AGUILA ARPIA". In the quadrant lower right the legend "ANIMALS IN DANGER OF EXTINCTION IN MEXICO". In the quadrant upper left the scientific name of the species (Harpia harpyja).
