The face of the writer Gustave Flaubert appears in the top right-hand corner of the piece. His first and last name "GUSTAVE FLAUBERT" is written vertically beside his face. At top left is the character of Salammbô, from the novel of the same name. At the bottom of the coin is the outline of the Haute-Normandie region, with the letters "RF" for République Française above it. Along the scroll is the name of the region "HAUTE-NORMANDIE".

Revers

The face value between two branches of laurel and oak, surrounded by the French motto and three hexagons.
