Appears on the coin in the upper right the face of the statesman Victor Schœlcher. His first and last name "VICTOR SCHŒLCHER" is written along the scroll beside his face. At the top left a dove, chains and the word "SLAVERY" are visible. At the bottom of the coin is the outline of the region of Martinique with the letters "RF" for République Française on top. Along the scroll is the name of the region "MARTINIQUE".
