Avers

The faces on the left are the French President, General De Gaulle, and on the right, the German Federal Chancellor, Konrad Adenauer. Their faces are both turned towards the central face value "10 EURO" and the anniversary dates "1963-2013". Below the effigies are their respective signatures. Above their heads is inscribed in French "50e ANNIVERSAIRE DU TRAITÉ DE L'ÉLYSÉE" and below it in German "ÉLYSÉE-VERTRAG" (Traité de l'Élysée). Beneath the latter are the letters "RF".

Revers

The face represents a woman's face, symbolizing the goddess Europa.

Rand

Smooth with in hollow the inscription "EUROPA" repeated four times in reversed directions.
