Beschreibung

1 Peso aus Mexiko. Ausgegeben 1866. Geprägt in Silver (.903). Durchmesser 37 mm, Gewicht 27.07 g.

Avers
Emperor's bust facing right, with name and title at his sides. And ribbon at bottom with assayer's name. NOTE: Known as "Small letters" for the smaller size of lettering in Obverse.
Revers
Crowned Imperial arms; Eagle with snake in beak standing on a cactus in the middle of a lake inside a shield with laurel and olive ornamentation. Crossed by two swords on back and held in place by two griffons. On the back a circle of ornaments made by small eagles and tassels. At bottom both sword are tied by a ribbon with legend and another eagle in the middle. Value at bottom left, date and mint at bottom right and legend at top.
