On the circumference of the coin is the inscription "5000 ТЕҢГЕ", denoting the face value of the coin, "ҚАЗАҚСТАН РЕСПУБЛИКАСЫ" in the state language and "REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN" in English, also there are the inscriptions "Ag 925 1kg" denoting the metal from which the coin is made, its test and mass. Revers

On the back of the coin is a collage of iconic buildings of Astana. In the upper part there is an inscription "АСТАНА" and a stylized holographic image of the sky.
