Right profile of Marie Curie surrounded by the legend: "- MARIE CURIE - - 1867 - 1934 -". Marie Curie (1867-1934) was a French physicist of Polish origin. Together with her husband Pierre Curie (1859-1906), she was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1903 and the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1911 for her work on polonium and radium.
