Beschreibung

8 Dollars - Elizabeth II aus Kanada. Ausgegeben 2010. Geprägt in Silver (.925). Durchmesser 36.1 mm, Gewicht 25.3 g.

Avers
Head of Queen Elizabeth II, as at 77 years of age, bare headed, wearing necklace and earrings, facing right. (Elizabeth II Queen by the grace of God)
Revers
Five horses parade around a colorful hologram featuring a sprig of two maple leaves. With a decorative pattern in the background, the overall design of this coin echoes the ornate art typical of Chinese pottery, embroidery and sculpture. In Chinese culture, the horse is a symbol of strength. It is the seventh sign in the Chinese zodiac and a significant status symbol, often portrayed in figurines found buried with important figures in Chinese history. The character symbol for strength is "li". It seems that the horse has a natural association with this symbol, because its shape bears a likeness to a plough and plough share used as farming implement. At the center of the design is a hologram with a shimmering maple leaf—the symbol of Canada.
