Beschreibung
8 Dollars - Elizabeth II aus Kanada. Ausgegeben 2010. Geprägt in Silver (.925). Durchmesser 36.1 mm, Gewicht 25.3 g.
- Avers
- Head of Queen Elizabeth II, as at 77 years of age, bare headed, wearing necklace and earrings, facing right. (Elizabeth II Queen by the grace of God)
- Revers
- Five horses parade around a colorful hologram featuring a sprig of two maple leaves. With a decorative pattern in the background, the overall design of this coin echoes the ornate art typical of Chinese pottery, embroidery and sculpture. In Chinese culture, the horse is a symbol of strength. It is the seventh sign in the Chinese zodiac and a significant status symbol, often portrayed in figurines found buried with important figures in Chinese history. The character symbol for strength is "li". It seems that the horse has a natural association with this symbol, because its shape bears a likeness to a plough and plough share used as farming implement. At the center of the design is a hologram with a shimmering maple leaf—the symbol of Canada.
