The obverse of the commemorative coin shows a detail of the main façade of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics' central building.

Реверс

On the reverse of the commemorative coin, in the central field is bordered by a circle, the jubilee logo of the 240th anniversary of the university is shown, with the number "240" from the logo in the background, multiplied as a pattern. The circular inscription around the centre field shows the name of the university in Hungarian at the top and in English at the bottom. The two inscriptions are separated on the left by a stylised representation of the floral motif decorating the university sceptre and on the right by the master mark of the artist András Szilos. The inner edge of the reverse bears the name of the university in Latin, in a circular inscription.
