Description
1 Euro from Italy. Issued from 2002 to 2007. Struck in Bimetallic: copper-nickel clad nickel centre in nickel brass ring. Measures 23.25 mm and weighs 7.5 g.
- Obverse
- A reproduction of the Vitruvian Man, a world renowned drawing created by Leonardo da Vinci around the year 1492, is encircled by the twelve stars of Europe. Italian Republic monogram above. Date and mint mark are at sides of the Leonardo design. ((RI) = Italian Republic)
- Reverse
- On the right, next to the numerical face value, a map of the Europe with the twelve vertical stars symbolizes the gathering of the nations of the European Union. The word "EURO" (part of the face value) is in relief above the map of Europe.
