Description
5 Francs from Switzerland (1848-date). Issued from 1922 to 1923. Struck in Silver (.900) (10% copper). Measures 37 mm and weighs 25 g.
- Obverse
- Bust of curly-haired herdsman, facing right, wearing hooded shirt, often mistakenly identified as William Tell.
- Reverse
- Coat of arms of Switzerland on square shield. Edelweiss (Leontopodium nivale) branch with four flowers to the left. Rusty-leaved alpenrose (Rhododendron ferrugineum) branch with flowers in right field.
- Edge
- Smooth with inscription in relief, including 13 stars (The Lord Will Provide)
