- Portrait to the left of Jean (1921-), Grand Duke of Luxembourg from 1964 to 2000 surrounded by the legend. Signature J.N. LEFEVRE under the cut of the neck (Jean Grand Duke of Luxembourg)

- The face value above the "IML" monogram of the Luxembourg Monetary Institute and the mention "LËTZEBUERG" is surmounted by the Grand-Ducal crown flanked on either side of the date (5 Francs Luxembourg)
