2 Francs from France. Issued from 1943 to 1944. Struck in Aluminium-magnesium. Measures 27 mm and weighs 2.2 g.

Obverse
Double-headed axe in centre with ear of wheat either side, lettering below. Lettering on top and bottom of axe NOTE: If there is a mintmark it is on the left, above the wheat and to the side of the head NOTE: The 1943 Essai coin has ESSAI above the axe

Oak leaves either side of central numeral, lettering above, lettering below with date (·WORK·FAMILY·
