10 Francs from France. Issued in 1988. Struck in Copper-aluminium-nickel. Measures 26 mm and weighs 10 g.
- Obverse
- Above the face value, a bird's head in profile with wings spread out on the outline of the Atlantic coastline of France. Circular legend: "FRENCH REPUBLIC", different and vintage.
- Reverse
- In circular legend "ROLAND GARROS 1888 - 1918" / In the center representation of a plane Morane-Saulnier type N and the bust of Roland Garros / Under the plane the signature "H. DHUETTHE". Roland-Garros (1888-1918) was a pioneer of aviation. On September 23, 1913 he made the first crossing of the Mediterranean.
- Edge
- Smooth with inscription in hollow: "FREEDOM EQUALITY FRATERNITY", separated by branches of laurel and olive and an ear of wheat.
