Description
500 Lire from Italy. Issued in 1998. Struck in Bimetallic: bronzital centre in acmonital ring. Measures 25.8 mm and weighs 6.8 g.
- Obverse
- Female head facing left. The woman symbolizes the Italian Republic with feathered wings coming from temples (symbols of intelligence and freedom). Engraver's name below the neck-cut. (Republic of Italy Cretara)
- Reverse
- Open hand with palm facing up, holding an ear and sorghum stems. Above it a solar globe and a twisted wheat ear, forming the number "20": the years of the anniversary. In the outer ring above the word "IFAD" with its symbol at left divides the dates of the anniversary; value is below with the mintmark at right and the name of the author at left, along the rim. , and a stylised 20 made out of wheat, and the denomination at the bottom
