Description
500 Lire from Italy. Issued in 1997. Struck in Bimetallic: bronzital centre in acmonital ring. Measures 25.75 mm and weighs 6.8 g.
- Obverse
- Female head facing left. The woman symbolizes the Italian Republic with feathered wings coming from temples (symbols of intelligence and freedom). Engraver's name below the neck-cut. (Italian Republic)
- Reverse
- In the inner disc in low position the arms of the Italian State Police divides the dates of the anniversary at sides. Above the arms inside a square a centaur archer to the left, symbol of the Traffic Police branch, with the mintmark. Name of the author at right of arms. In the outer ring above the value, and below the legend; while at sides a schematic representation of a road maps (Traffic Police National Police Under the Law There is Freedom)
