Description
20 Centavos from Mexico. Issued from 1971 to 1974. Struck in Brass (95% Copper, 5% Zinc). Measures 28.5 mm and weighs 10 g.
- Obverse
- Revised coat of arms; made entirely of outlines, larger wreath and finer lettering. (United Mexican States)
- Reverse
- Value at top with radiant Liberty cap in between. Mint mark under cap. In the center is the Pyramid of the Sun surrounded by volcanoes on either side. To the right is Popocatépetl (known as "the Smoking Mountain"), an active volcano, and to the left is Iztaccihuatl (known as "the White Woman), a dormant volcano. Teotihuacán (where the pyramid is located) written at pyramid's base. The value and date are at the bottom. (Liberty Mo Teotihuacán 20 Cents 1971)
