1 Peso from Mexico. Issued from 1957 to 1967. Struck in Billon (.100 silver) (Copper .700, Nickel .100, Zinc .100). Measures 34.5 mm and weighs 16 g.
- Obverse
- Country name (Estados Unidos Mexicanos) in a semicircle over the Mexican coat of arms: a Mexican golden eagle standing on a prickly pear cactus devouring a rattlesnake. At the base of the cactus there is a holm oak (encino) branch on one side and a laurel branch on the other. Denomination and year at the bottom. (United Mexican States ·One Peso 1961·)
