Description

20 Centavos from Colombia. Issued from 1952 to 1953. Struck in Billon (.300 silver). Measures 23.15 mm and weighs 5 g.

Obverse
The country name in a semicircle above the arms of Colombia (an Andean condor facing left, with wings spread and holding an olive wreath, is perched on top of a shield. “Libertad y Orden” is on a scroll in between the bird and the shield. The national flag is draped on each side of the shield which is broken into three portions. In the lowermost portion, there are two ships. The Phrygia cap is in the middle section. The topmost section contains a pomegranate flanked by two cornucopias) and the date below. (Republic of Colombia
