Description
10 Markkaa from Finland. Issued from 1928 to 1939. Struck in Aluminium bronze (93% Copper, 3% Aluminium, 2% Nickel). Measures 27 mm and weighs 8 g.
- Obverse
- Shielded coat of arms of Finland within spruce wreath - a rampant lion left with the right foreleg replaced with an armoured hand brandishing a sword, trampling on a sabre with the hindpaws. Date divided by wreath below. (Isak Gustaf [b]S[/b]undell (Jan 1878 - Nov 1964) was director of the Mint from 1912 to 1947)
