Obverse
Vine branch and Portuguese coat of arms in the center. The face value "2.50 euros" is inscribed at the bottom of the coin. The name of the issuing state of the Portuguese Republic, the year, the mint and the name of the engraver "REPÚBLICA PORTUGUESA 2008 INCM - ARMANDO ALVES" are inscribed on the upper edge of the coin.
Reverse
View of the Alto Douro wine-growing region in north-east Portugal, included on the Unesco World Heritage list in 2001, in the cultural landscapes category. This region, bathed by the Rio Douro, is part of the wine-growing region that produces the famous Port wine.
