Description

1 Afghani from Afghanistan. Issued from 1383 to 1384. Struck in Copper plated steel. Measures 20 mm and weighs 3.25 g.

Obverse
Coat of arms of Afghanistan adopted in 2002 consisting in a mosque with two Afghan flags. Inside the mosque, some steps which guide to the mehrab with a prayer rug inside. Surrounding the mosque, sheaves of wheat linked with a sunrise and the date of Afghanistan's independence (1298 / ۱۲۹۸) according to the Persian calendar.
