500 Mils from Cyprus. Issued from 1975 to 1977. Struck in Copper-nickel (75% Copper, 25% Nickel). Measures 32.31 mm and weighs 14.14 g.
- Obverse
- Cypriot coat of arms (A dove holding an olive twig and the independence year 1960), laurel twigs around with inscription Cyprus in Greek, Turkish and English and the date of issue 1975 (or 1977)
- Reverse
- The design is based on an ancient coin of king of Salamis Evagoras I. A legendary hero featuring Hercules is seating on the rock on which his lion's skin is spread, holding horn of plenty.
