Obverse
The stylized federal eagle, the traditional symbol of German sovereignty, overlooked by the twelve stars of the European Union. On the left-hand side is the face value "10 EURO" and the letter "D" from the Munich workshop. Beneath the eagle is the state name "BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND" and the year.
Reverse
The representation of one of his works, "The Poor Poet" and the inscription "CARL SPITZWEG 1808-1885". Carl Spitzweg was a German poet and painter. He painted or drew over 1,500 pictures.
