- Obverse
- The stylized federal eagle, the traditional symbol of German sovereignty, overlooked by the twelve stars of the European Union. On the left-hand side is the face value "10 EURO" and the letter "D" from the Munich workshop. Beneath the eagle is the state name "BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND" and the year.
- Reverse
- The representation of one of his works, "The Poor Poet" and the inscription "CARL SPITZWEG 1808-1885". Carl Spitzweg was a German poet and painter. He painted or drew over 1,500 pictures.
