Obverse

Set in the wreath made of images of plants and animals there is engraved the small National Emblem of Ukraine and a legend: УКРАЇНА, 2, ГРИВНІ, 2003 (Ukraine/ 2/ hryvnia/ 2003), as well as the logotype of the NBU Mint is depicted.

Reverse

There is the Hippocampus is presented a picture of a seahorse surrounded by the inscriptions: МОРСЬКИЙ КОНИК ЧОРНОМОРСЬКИЙ (Black Sea seahorse) and HIPPOCAMPUS GUTTULATUS MICROSTEPHANUS.
