Within the insert ring, against the background of a conventionalized ornament there is depicted the small National emblem of Ukraine, above there is the coin issue year - 2004, year; within the outer circle there are the inscriptions: УКРАЇНА, 5, ГРИВЕНЬ (Ukraine/ 5/ hryvnia) and the logotype of the NBU Mint

Within the insert ring, against the background of a conventionalized ornament there is the UNESCO logotype; within the outer ring there are the inscriptions: 50 РОКІВ УКРАЇНИ В ЮНЕСКО, 50 YEARS OF UKRAINE IN UNESCO.
