- The stylized German federal eagle, the traditional symbol of German sovereignty, is surrounded by the twelve stars of the European Union, the name of the state "BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND", the year, the letter "A" of the Berlin workshop and the face value "10 EURO".

- The map of the reunited Germany with the inscription "WIR SIND EIN VOLK" (We are a people) on top. Around the map the inscription "20 JAHRE DEUTSCHE EINHEIT" (20 years of German unity).
