Description
20 Euros from San Marino. Issued in 2009. Struck in Gold (.900). Measures 21 mm and weighs 6.45 g.
- Obverse
- Coat of arms of the Republic of San Marino in which we can see a hill and towers with feathers. Above, a crown. On the left a branch of laurel, and on the right a branch of oak surround this coat of arms. The name of the engraver is inscribed at the bottom of the coin, and the name of the Republic of San Marino appears on the outline of the coin.
- Reverse
- The piece represents a copper ciborium (Musée d'inventaire n. B/803, h. 9.3 x 6.7 cm) engraved with a motif of red foliage and flowers, enhanced by a background of blue-gray enamel. Produced by a Limoges workshop in the second half of the 13th century, it is a well-made object unique to collections in this region. This museum piece was donated to the new "Musée des pouvoirs publics" between 1867 and 1868 by Count Carlo Bruc De, a distinguished Neapolitan physician of French origin, to whom the museum owes other generous donations.
