- In the center, the national shield in sculptural relief surrounded with the legend "ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS". Surrounding it and following the outline of the frame, the reproduction of different shields used throughout the history of our country, as well as the eagle found in the central part of the first page of the Mendocino Codex. - A scene showing the image of a river otter on a rock, followed by the "$" sign and then the number "5" on a line spacing that starts from the vertical axis to the right and to the left the number "2000". At the bottom the symbol of the Mint of Mexico. In the upper right quadrant the scientific name of the species (Lontra longicaudis).
