1½ Euros from France. Issued in 2002. Struck in Silver (.900). Measures 37 mm and weighs 22.2 g.
- Obverse
- A magic wand with a volute of stars and a world of objects related to the tales of European children. The face value "1 1/2 €", the marks of the monetary workshop and the motto "LIBERTÉ EQUALITY FRATERNITY", are at the center of the coin. Below the vintage "2002", "RF" the name of the issuing state of the French Republic, and the famous beginning of children's tales "IT WAS ONCE ...".
- Reverse
- Pinocchio is a children's story created by Carlo Collodi, begun in 1881. The name of the story is inscribed at the very top of the play "PINOCCHIO". In the center from left to right is the representation of Geppetto holding the puppet named Pinocchio (colored part), a threatening shark's head emerging from the sea, the blue goat, the cat and the fox. Further below, logs of wood, carpenter's tools and wood chips with the Greek letter alpha "α" and inside the year "2002".
