- Obverse
- Map of France including various historic monuments with different types of architecture. Inscriptions are found on both sides of the map. In clockwise order, at the top the motto "LIBERTÉ ÉGALITÉ FRATERNITÉ", then "1 EURO ½", at the very bottom "LES MONUMENTS DE FRANCE", the workshop marks, the year "2003" and finally "RF" for République française.
- Reverse
- The castle of Chambord seen from the forest with a stag and a doe in front of a plan of the castle. Below the name of the monument "CHÂTEAU DE CHAMBORD".
