- Obverse
- The face value between two branches of laurel and oak, surrounded by the name of the state "RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE" and three hexagons.
- Reverse
- Nude Hercules with leonté (lion's skin, attribute of Hercules), standing frontally, uniting Liberty standing left, and Equality right, holding the level. Behind them, a stylized French flag. The figures are surrounded by the motto "LIBERTÉ ÉGALITÉ FRATERNITÉ". The coin takes up the theme of the old French Republic coins, while modernizing Dupré's Hercules.
