Obverse
The face value between two branches of laurel and oak, surrounded by the name of the state "RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE" and three hexagons.
Reverse
Nude Hercules with leonté (lion's skin, attribute of Hercules), standing frontally, uniting Liberty standing left, and Equality right, holding the level. Behind them, a stylized French flag. The figures are surrounded by the motto "LIBERTÉ ÉGALITÉ FRATERNITÉ". The coin takes up the theme of the old French Republic coins, while modernizing Dupré's Hercules.
