- Helvetia (allegory of Switzerland) seated on a rock, facing left, holding sword in right hand and resting left hand on shield with coat of arms on Switzerland. Oak stump with offshoot to the right. Mountains in the background. 22 stars around symbolising the number of Swiss cantons at the time.

- Inscription in two lines, surrounded by wreath formed of laurel and oak branches tied with a ribbon below.
