1 Cent from United States. Issued in 1793. Struck in Copper. Measures 26.5 mm and weighs 13.48 g.

Obverse
The "Flowing Hair" Liberty head on the right, and the vintage. This design was not well received by the public, as flowing hair was considered daring for its time.
Reverse
The face value (in words and fractions) surrounded by a chain. This design wasn't well received either, as the chain didn't give the impression of freedom. That's why it was later replaced by a plant crown.
Edge
Vine with leaves and bars are found on the edge of this coin.
