- Portrait of Queen Elizabeth the second facing right, denomination below The effigy was approved for use from 1 January 1985, and this commemorative coin is one of the first on which it appears.
- Reverse
- SS Great Britian : this vessel has had close associations with the Falklands since 1886. On her last journey, she ran into a violent storm which caused damage to her masts and was subsequently forced aground of the Falklands coast. She remained there until her return to the United Kingdom in 1970.
