Description
Ecu with cravat - Louis XIV from France. Issued from 1672 to 1685. Struck in Silver (.917). Measures 39 mm and weighs 27.45 g.
- Obverse
- Bust of Louis XIV facing right, draped and armored, with the cord of the Order of the Holy Spirit, an embroidered cravat, and a wig. Lettering begins at the bottom left. (Louis XIV, by the grace of God, king of France and Navarre.)
- Reverse
- Reverse with royal French shield surrounded by pious legend and date. The symbol below the shield and between "•DOMINI•" and "•BENEDICTVM•" is the mint mark. (Blessed be the name of the Lord.)
