- Obverse
- The two-headed eagle designed by artist I. Bilibin. The inscriptions along the rim: at the top — «ОДИН РУБЛЬ 1997 г.» (ONE ROUBLE 1997), at the bottom — «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA). The letters below indicate the metal sign, the fineness, the fine metal content and the mint trademark. (ONE ROUBLE LMD BANK OF RUSSIA)
- Reverse
- The picture of football players at the moment of the final game for the Europe Cup between the USSR and Yugoslavia teams in Paris in 1960, which scored 2-1 for the Soviets. To the left — the picture of the Eiffel Tower and the Cup with the inscription «ПАРИЖ» (Paris). The inscription at the bottom along the rim: «КУБОК ЕВРОПЫ. 1960» (THE EUROPE CUP. 1960).
