2 Hryvni from Ukraine. Issued in 2006. Struck in Nickel brass (German silver). Measures 31 mm and weighs 12.8 g.

Obverse

There is the Small National Emblem of Ukraine placed on the left above, in the center – a “kameniar” (stone-breaker) shattering a rock, thereunder – the year of the coin issue – 2006. The semicircular inscriptions say НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ (National Bank of Ukraine) above and ДВІ ГРИВНІ (two hryvnias) below. The logo of the National Bank of Ukraine Mint is placed on the coin.

Reverse

There is a portrait of Ivan Franko, to the left and to the right of the portrait there are lumps of the shattered rock and inscriptions: ІВАН ФРАНКО (Ivan Franko) on the left and years of his life – 1856 / 1916 (on the right).
