Obverse

There is the Small National Emblem of Ukraine, below - the image of the reverse side of the coin in circulation 'Volodymyr the Great'; to the left whereof there is logotype of the National Bank of Ukraine Mint, to the right - the coin issue year - 2006. Around the coin circumference there are the following inscriptions: НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ (National Bank of Ukraine) - above and П'ЯТЬ ГРИВЕНЬ (Five Hryvnia) below.

Reverse

In the center against the background of Ukrainian banknotes there is the image of Kyiv type silver hryvnia of the 11th-13th centuries, to the right whereof there is a shortened text of the Order of the National Bank of Ukraine # 71 of August 26, 1996 'On Measures to Execute the Decree of the President of Ukraine of August 25, 1996 'On the Currency Reform in Ukraine'.
