- In the center of the coin, an open kimono showing the Eiffel Tower, at the top the inscription "France-Japan" on one line and "150th Anniversary" on the next line; on both sides of the kimono: on the left the year "2008", on the right "RF". In exergue, the face value "1 1/2 EURO" surrounded by the two different currencies.
