Description
5 Hryven from Ukraine. Issued in 2004. Struck in Nickel brass (German silver). Measures 35 mm and weighs 16.54 g.
- Obverse
- There are depicted ancient Greek merchant ships, between them in the center there is the small National Emblem of Ukraine, under which there is a two-line inscription: 5 ГРИВЕНЬ (5 hryvnia), within the frame of an ornamental composition made of acanthus leaves and vines; besides there is the Mint logotype of the National Bank of Ukraine. Above there is УКРАЇНА (Ukraine) inscription, under which - 2004, the coin issue year .
- Reverse
- In the upper part of the coin field the Balaklava bay is depicted; to the right - sailing ships, to the left - the coat of arms of the town of Balaklava; in the lower part of the coin field there is a column and two anchors, found during archeological excavations; above there is a semicircular inscription: 2500 РОКІВ БАЛАКЛАВІ (2500 Years to Balaklava)
