Obverse
The face of the writer Jules Verne appears in the upper right-hand corner of the coin. His first and last name "JULES VERNE" is written next to his face along the scroll. At top left, the means of transport used in the extraordinary voyages novels are visible: a hot-air balloon in a storm, a rocket in the stars arriving in the orbit of the Moon and a submarine avoiding a giant octopus. At the bottom of the coin is the outline of the Picardie region, with the letters "RF" for République Française above it. Along the scroll is the name of the region "PICARDIE".
Reverse
The face value between two branches of laurel and oak, surrounded by the French motto and three hexagons.
