- Coat of Arms of the Grand Duchy encircled by the Garter and its motto, crowned and surrounded by denomination. Date below. Friedrich Wilhelm married a granddaughter of Georg III and made a Knight of the Order of the Garter by Queen Victoria (1862), which allows him to add the famous garter to his Arms-
