Obverse

There is depicted the small National Emblem of Ukraine between two figures of angels and the following legend: on the German silver coin - УКРАЇНА and 5 / ГРИВЕНЬ / 2000, (Ukraine/ 5/ hryvnia/ 2000), as well as the logotype of the NBU Mint is placed.

Reverse

In the foreground there is placed a cruciform composition depicting the Prince Volodymyr the Baptist (Volodymyr the Great) against the background of the scene of kievites baptizing and the conventionalized inscription: ХРЕЩЕННЯ РУСІ (Baptizing of Rus)
