- Obverse
- In a circle, inserted in a square, a form chosen to represent wisdom also the main elements of the Perugia University's coat of arms: St. Ercolano and the crowned Griffin rampant. Below a decorative element (Italian Republic)
- Reverse
- A big square stone panel with a medieval inscription, placed as closure of the niche where the documents concerning the birth of the University were kept. Above it the dates of the anniversary; below the value with the name of the author at right and the mintmark at left. On the left and right sides of the panel, the inscriptions "UNIVERSITY" and "DI PERUGIA". (UNIVERSITY OF PERUGIA)
