Design evolved from kaliyan fanams of South east India. Chuckram within a large crescent above vishnupadam (feet of Lord Vishnu) that is represented by two curved lines and 10 pellets,for the toes.

Twelve pellets within a curve considered as the 12 Rasi or the signs of the zodiac, flanked by sprays with flowers
