Obverse

Above there is the semicircular inscription НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ (National Bank of Ukraine) with the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine thereunder to the left; in the center there is depicted the monument to the Liberator Warrior decorating the city; thereunder is indicated the coin issue year 2013; to the left there is the coin face value: 5 ГРИВЕНЬ (5 Hryvnias); to the right there is the mark of the National Bank of Ukraine Mint

Reverse

There is a composition: the star with the inscription 70 років (70 Years) in the center with the laurel branch thereunder; the reverse bears the circumferential inscription ВИЗВОЛЕННЯ ХАРКОВА ВІД ФАШИСТСЬКИХ ЗАГАРБНИКІВ (Liberation of Kharkiv from the fascist invaders) and the legend 1943 (below)
