There is depicted the small National Emblem of Ukraine in the center of the ornament interpreting the interior decorated the ceiling of the main institute building. Around the coin circumference there are inscriptions: УКРАЇНА, 2 ГРИВНІ, 1998 (Ukraine/ 2 /hryvnia/ 1998.)

Reverse

There is a depiction of the main institute building (architect I.S.Kitner, 1901). Around the coin circumference there are inscriptions: КИЇВСЬКИЙ ПОЛІТЕХНІЧНИЙ ІНСТИТУТ, 100 РОКІВ (the Kyiv Polytechnical Institute/100 Years)
